Painter Start ASAP Overview This role focuses on painting commercial and residential sites for both new construction and remodel projects. You will prepare, prime, and paint walls according to customer specifications while adapting to varying job site durations and locations. You bring your core painting tools and attire, and you work under the guidance of an on-site foreman as part of a team committed to delivering high-quality finishes on time. Responsibilities Prep and paint interior spaces for commercial and residential projects Clean, sand, patch, tape, and prime surfaces to ensure a flawless finish Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment Follow project specs, color schemes, and finish requirements Work on a variety of jobs—from quick one-day projects to longer-term builds Collaborate with a foreman and team to stay on schedule Keep job sites clean, organized, and professional Essential Skills Strong prep and finishing skills (masking, sanding, patching, priming) Ability to use brushes, rollers, and spray equipment Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally Your own basic painting tools (whites, brushes, rollers, multitool) Carpentry, drywall, or general construction experience Taping and drywall finishing Ability to assist with light construction tasks Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is entirely focused on indoor painting within commercial environments, including both new construction and interior remodels. You work at multiple job sites that change frequently, so you must be comfortable driving to different locations within roughly a 20-mile radius of McHenry. You operate under the direction of an on-site foreman and often collaborate with a small team or larger crew depending on project size. The work involves typical construction-site conditions, including working around other trades and equipment, and requires standard painter attire such as painters whites, along with personal painting tools. Specialty tools and equipment are provided on site as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of McHenry, IL.
