Job Description

Job Summary We are also looking for an apprentice no experience required as well as skilled and energetic Painter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming spaces through expert painting techniques, ensuring high-quality finishes across residential, commercial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will help bring visions to life by applying paint, coatings, and finishes with precision and care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that require both creativity and technical skill, contributing to the beautification and preservation of various structures. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Must have reliable transportation. Most jobs are in the Ottawa, Peru, Princeton, surrounding areas. Use hand tools and power tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and scaffolding to apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other finishes. Execute residential painting tasks including wall painting, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and restoration work. Perform commercial and industrial painting projects involving large-scale surface preparation and coating application. Conduct renovation projects involving drywall repair, stucco application (including masonry), concrete finishing, framing, carpentry (including trim carpentry), and masonry work. Maintain safety standards on construction sites by adhering to protocols related to scaffolding, welding (if applicable), and working with hazardous materials. Collaborate with team members on remodeling projects while demonstrating handyman experience in various maintenance tasks. Skills Extensive knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and color theory principles. Proficiency in residential painting techniques as well as commercial and industrial coating methods. Skilled in the use of hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers; power tools including sanders and spray guns; welding equipment; and scaffolding setups. Strong understanding of surface preparation processes like plastering, caulking, stucco application, masonry work, and concrete finishing. Ability to perform fixture installation and restoration work with precision. Experience working on construction sites with a focus on renovation projects involving framing carpentry or trim carpentry. Basic math skills for measurements and estimating project quantities accurately. Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction painting environments including working at heights or with hazardous materials. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with handyman experience for maintenance or repair tasks across various building systems.
