Responsibilities Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, plastering, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Use hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, and scaffolding safely and effectively to apply paints, stains, and finishes on various surfaces. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately determine project scope and specifications. Execute residential and commercial painting projects with attention to detail, including wall coatings, trim carpentry, stucco application, caulking, and fixture installation. Perform restoration work on older structures by matching colors using color theory principles and performing surface repairs such as masonry or concrete finishing. Assist with renovation projects involving demolition, framing, drywall installation, plastering, and masonry work as needed. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites. Experience Proven experience in construction painting across residential, commercial, or industrial settings with a strong understanding of construction site safety practices. Skilled in using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, caulking guns, and power tools including drills and sanders. Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math calculations for estimating paint quantities or measurements. Familiarity with construction estimating processes and the ability to assess project requirements accurately. Hands-on experience with specialized techniques like airless paint spraying, welding for fixture installation support, or restoration projects is a plus. Background in related trades such as carpentry (trim or frame), masonry, plastering or remodeling enhances versatility on diverse projects.
