About This Position:
Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, working with your hands, and taking pride in improving the infrastructure that keeps Louisiana moving? As a Structural Painter 2, you will play an important role in maintaining and protecting DOTD bridge structures through sandblasting, painting, and skilled maintenance work. This position offers the opportunity to work as part of a team, guide and train others, and help ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently. This role requires comfort working at elevated heights, outdoors in various weather conditions, and operating specialized equipment while following DOTD safety standards and procedures. Job Duties:
Performs sandblasting and surface preparation on bridge structures, including work at elevated heights. Applies various types of coatings and paints using airless and conventional spray equipment. Provides direction, training, and guidance to Structural Painter 1 employees and apprentices while coordinating daily work activities. Inspects job sites, ensures proper materials and equipment are available, performs equipment maintenance, and operates vehicles and equipment as needed.

Compensation:
Starting pay from $ 21.05 up to $33.68 plus an additional $2.00 for every hour worked. Applicants with extraordinary qualifications may be eligible for appointment above the minimum rate in accordance with Civil Service Rule 6.5(g).
