Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Painter/Crew Chief to lead our painting projects with precision and professionalism. In this role, you will oversee and execute a variety of painting tasks across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. You will coordinate with team members to ensure high-quality workmanship, adherence to safety standards, and timely project completion. As a key leader on the job site, you will also be responsible for guiding less experienced painters, interpreting technical drawings, and maintaining a safe working environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise in construction painting while leading a dynamic team toward excellence. Duties Lead and supervise a team of painters on multiple projects, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to high standards Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primers as needed for various substrates Execute a wide range of painting techniques including brush, roller, spray (conventional and airless), and specialty coatings for different surfaces such as drywall, stucco, masonry, and metal Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately plan and execute painting projects Use hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment safely to reach high or difficult areas Apply coatings in renovation or restoration projects while adhering to safety regulations including respiratory protection and proper handling of hazardous materials Perform surface preparation tasks such as concrete finishing, masonry work, carpentry (trim framing), drywall installation, and fixture installation when necessary Maintain detailed project documentation including logs of work completed, safety inspections, and quality control checks Requirements Proven experience in construction or industrial painting with a strong understanding of surface preparation techniques and coating applications Skilled in various painting methods including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (airless and conventional), and construction spray painting Knowledge of color theory for accurate color matching and visual color comparison skills Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans effectively Familiarity with safety regulations related to construction sites including respiratory protection protocols Experience using hand tools, power tools (such as sanders or grinders), scaffolding equipment, ladders safely and effectively Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to project specifications Strong carpentry skills including trim carpentry and framing are preferred Ability to lead a team efficiently while maintaining high safety standards on the job site Construction site experience with knowledge of renovation processes or restoration projects is highly desirable Join us if you're passionate about transforming spaces through expert craftsmanship!
