Our hauling division specializes in cleanouts and property services, and some customers need additional work to prepare their property after a cleanout. We're looking for a skilled painter who can step into a house, apartment or rental property and handle painting and preparation professionally and efficiently. This is a part-time, project-based position , with hours based on scheduled jobs. It may be a good fit for an experienced painter looking to add additional work to their schedule. Responsibilities Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking and minor drywall patching and repair. Paint interior walls, ceilings, doors and trim using brushes and rollers. Cut in cleanly around ceilings, trim, doors, windows and other surfaces. Protect floors, fixtures and surrounding areas before and during painting. Determine appropriate preparation and application methods based on the condition of the property. Complete painting projects efficiently while maintaining professional-quality results. Safely use ladders, hand tools and painting equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the project. Clean up work areas and equipment upon completion. Work independently or alongside other crew members as needed. Follow company and job-site safety procedures. Experience Previous professional residential painting experience required. Strong preparation, cutting and rolling skills. Experience with minor drywall patching and wall repairs. Ability to produce clean, consistent, professional-quality finishes. Knowledge of proper surface preparation and paint application techniques. Ability to estimate paint and material quantities for assigned projects is a plus. Experience with rental turnovers, property maintenance, remodeling or residential repainting is a plus. Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Dependable and punctual. Reliable transportation required. Comfortable traveling to residential job sites throughout Metro Detroit.
