As a Summer Painter, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to bring color and life to buildings, ensuring quality craftsmanship and attention to detail at every step. Duties Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion Apply paint, stain, or other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, and sprayers including airless paint spraying equipment Assist with surface repairs including plastering, caulking, and minor drywall work to create smooth finishes Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and color schemes based on color theory principles Operate power tools and hand tools safely for tasks like trim carpentry, fixture installation, or masonry work during renovation projects Support team members in construction site tasks such as framing, masonry, or concrete finishing as needed Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris in accordance with safety standards Qualifications Enthusiastic about working outdoors and on construction sites with exposure to various weather conditions Basic math skills for measuring areas and calculating paint quantities Prior experience or familiarity with construction estimating, blueprint reading, or renovation processes is a plus Knowledge of construction painting techniques including industrial painting and restoration work is desirable Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively Strong attention to detail with an understanding of color theory for accurate color matching and finishing Previous handyman experience or related skills such as carpentry, welding, or fixture installation are advantageous This paid summer role is designed for motivated individuals eager to build a foundation in the construction industry while contributing to meaningful projects.
