Position:

(Purpose of the Position): Student Paint Crew will assist St. Olaf staff painters over the summer months painting campus buildings (both interior and exterior).

Transferable Skills:

Self-starter. Must have the ability to work independently and on teams. Comfortable working with hand tools and modest physical labor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The position requires commitment for the entire summer season. Will complete paint projects as directed by the supervisor of on-campus buildings (inside and outside). Must wear appropriate footwear.

Qualifications:

(Education/Experience/Skills) At least three months of experience working with the St. Olaf paint crew, or equivalent experience, required. Experience with both interior and exterior painting required. All interested students are encouraged to apply.

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 20 lbs., driving, and operating hand tools to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, chemicals, wet or humid conditions indoors, proximity hazards, and heights or cramped quarters, as well as rare exposure to respiratory factors and vibrations to perform the essential functions. Protective equipment is required to perform some essential functions.
