Responsibilities Assist lead painters with surface preparation, including sanding, scraping, and cleaning surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Support the application of paints, stains, primers, and sealants using hand tools and power tools such as airless paint sprayers. Prepare work sites by masking areas, caulking gaps, and setting up scaffolding or ladders safely. Help with demolition, plastering, stucco application, and minor carpentry tasks like trim carpentry or fixture installation to facilitate painting projects. Read blueprints, schematics, or schematics to understand project specifications and ensure accurate work execution. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of debris regularly. Learn about color theory to assist in selecting appropriate paint colors for various projects while adhering to client specifications. Experience Previous experience in construction painting or related trades is required; Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, and safety protocols on sites is advantageous. Basic math skills are necessary for measuring surfaces accurately and mixing paints or compounds correctly. Knowledge of construction estimating processes can be beneficial for understanding project scope and timelines.
