Overview As a Painter Helper and play a vital role in transforming spaces through expert painting and renovation projects. This energetic position offers hands-on experience supporting skilled painters on residential, commercial, and industrial sites. As a Painter Helper, you will develop valuable skills in construction painting, surface preparation, and the use of various tools and techniques. This paid position is perfect for motivated individuals eager to learn the trade while contributing to high-quality craftsmanship that enhances properties and environments. Responsibilities Assist lead painters with surface preparation, including sanding, scraping, and cleaning surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Support the application of paints, stains, primers, and sealants using hand tools and power tools such as airless paint sprayers. Prepare work sites by masking areas, caulking gaps, and setting up scaffolding or ladders safely. Help with demolition, plastering, stucco application, and minor carpentry tasks like trim carpentry or fixture installation to facilitate painting projects. Read blueprints, schematics, or schematics to understand project specifications and ensure accurate work execution. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of debris regularly. Learn about color theory to assist in selecting appropriate paint colors for various projects while adhering to client specifications. Experience Previous experience in construction painting or related trades is required; Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, and safety protocols on sites is advantageous. Basic math skills are necessary for measuring surfaces accurately and mixing paints or compounds correctly. Knowledge of construction estimating processes can be beneficial for understanding project scope and timelines. Experience with renovation projects, restoration work, or remodeling environments will help you excel in this role. A background in drywall finishing, or handyman tasks adds value to your skill set.
