Job Description
Painter II -
Kevin Turner Painting Location:
Belton, Missouri /Greater Kansas City Area Employment Type:
Full-Time, W-2Pay Range:
$25-$30/hour, depending on demonstrated skill and experience Position Summary Kevin Turner Painting is seeking an experienced Painter II to join our production team. This position is designed for a skilled painter who can work independently, consistently produce professional-quality work, and complete assigned tasks within established production expectations. A Painter II is expected to require minimal instruction on standard residential and commercial painting tasks. This position works under the direction of a Crew Lead and Production Manager and may assist with directing less-experienced painters when needed. This is an excellent position for an experienced painter who wants to continue developing their skills and potentially advance into a Crew Lead position . Primary Responsibilities Perform professional interior and exterior painting using brush, roller, and airless spray equipment. Properly prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking, patching, filling, masking, and priming. Complete drywall repairs and basic texture repairs as assigned. Perform proper masking and protection of floors, furniture, landscaping, fixtures, windows, and adjacent surfaces. Apply primers, paints, stains, and coatings according to manufacturer specifications and KTP standards. Identify substrate, moisture, adhesion, or preparation issues and notify the Crew Lead before coating. Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites throughout the project. Follow established production rates and communicate promptly when assigned work is not progressing according to budgeted hours. Perform quality-control checks on your own work and correct deficiencies before requesting inspection. Assist Painter I/entry-level employees with proper techniques and Company standards when directed by the Crew Lead. Properly use, clean, and maintain company tools, sprayers, ladders, and equipment. Follow all OSHA requirements, PPE requirements, safety procedures, and Company policies. Complete job documentation and photographs as required. Maintain professional conduct in occupied homes and commercial environments. Participate in punch-list completion and project cleanup. Perform other production-related duties assigned by the Crew Lead or Production Manager. Required Experience & Skills The ideal Painter II has approximately 2-5 years of professional painting experience and can demonstrate competency in most standard painting operations. Candidates should be able to independently perform standard interior and exterior preparation and painting; cut straight lines; properly roll walls and ceilings; identify when surfaces require primer; perform common drywall and surface repairs; mask and protect surfaces efficiently; operate an airless sprayer safely; recognize common coating or substrate problems; and consistently produce work that meets professional quality standards. A Painter II should understand that preparation is a critical part of the finished product and should not require continuous supervision to complete routine work correctly. What Separates Painter II From a Crew Lead Painter II is a skilled production position, not the primary job-management position . The Crew Lead remains responsible for overall execution of the work order, directing the crew, tracking the job against budgeted hours, coordinating with the Production Manager, conducting customer-facing job walks, maintaining job documentation, and ensuring the entire project meets Company standards. A strong Painter II should be capable of taking ownership of an assigned portion of a project and completing it correctly without being continuously managed. Advancement Painter II employees who demonstrate strong technical ability, productivity, reliability, communication, leadership, job documentation, and the ability to direct other painters may be considered for advancement to Crew Lead . Advancement is based on demonstrated competency and performance rather than length of employment alone. Employment Requirements Candidates must have reliable attendance and transportation, be able to perform the physical requirements of professional painting, safely work from ladders and appropriate elevated work platforms, follow Company safety requirements, and successfully complete applicable pre-employment including drug testing and background check. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are preferred and may be required for employees operating Company vehicles. Compensation & Benefits $25-$30 per hour , based on demonstrated experience and skill level. Full-time W-2 employees are eligible for Company benefits according to current eligibility requirements, including paid holidays, vacation/PTO, and available medical benefits.Pay:
