In this role, you will oversee painting projects from start to finish, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. As a Lead Painter, you will coordinate with other trades, manage painting crews, and ensure that all work meets client specifications and project deadlines. Your expertise in residential, commercial, and industrial painting will be vital in transforming spaces and delivering exceptional results. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead projects, develop your skills, and contribute to beautiful, lasting finishes across diverse environments. Responsibilities Lead and supervise painting crews on residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ensuring efficient workflow and quality standards are met. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Select appropriate paints, coatings, and finishes based on project requirements and color theory principles. Read blueprints, schematics, and detailed project plans to accurately estimate scope of work and execute tasks accordingly. Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools including airless paint sprayers, brushes, rollers, scaffolding equipment, and welding tools when necessary. Perform surface preparation tasks such as masonry work, stucco application, drywall installation, trim carpentry, framing, and restoration projects. Apply various types of paint including industrial coatings, epoxy finishes, and specialty paints using techniques like spray application or brushwork while maintaining safety protocols. Collaborate with project managers to estimate costs related to materials like paint supplies or repair materials using construction estimating skills. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards; maintain a clean and organized job site at all times. Provide mentorship to junior painters by sharing knowledge of color theory, schematics interpretation, hand tool use, and renovation best practices. Requirements Proven experience in residential painting as well as commercial or industrial painting projects with a strong understanding of construction site procedures. Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate project execution. Proficiency with hand tools such as caulking guns, putty knives, brushes; power tools including airless sprayers; welding equipment; masonry tools; carpentry tools; concrete finishing tools; plastering equipment; fixture installation gear; and maintenance tools. Knowledge of construction estimating techniques for materials like paint supplies or repair components. Familiarity with color theory principles for achieving desired aesthetic effects across different surfaces. Ability to perform surface preparation tasks such as drywall installation/remodeling, stucco application, masonry work or restoration projects. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction painting environments including scaffolding use and hazardous material handling. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to project scope or material quantities. Experience with schematics interpretation for complex renovation or remodeling projects. Understanding of various paint products and coatings. Ability to train and mentor others
