Painter Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools - 3.6 Charlotte, NC Job Details Full-time From $20.40 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description General Definition of Work The painter, under general supervision, performs skill-based work with minimal decision-making discretion painting the interior and exteriors of furniture, equipment, and buildings. Employee performs district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Supervisor, Maintenance Operations I. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Salary/Status Hourly NC 07/ Full-time, 12 months Reports To Supervisor, Maintenance Operations I Place of Work The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time. Essential Functions Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures Prepare new and previously painted surfaces for painting, staining, varnishing and finishing by water blasting, stripping, sanding, patching, puttying, priming and cleaning Apply paint, stains, varnishes, lacquers and other protective and decorative coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment Paint a variety of structures and equipment including exterior and interior building surfaces, floors, furniture, equipment Operate a variety of machines including spray guns, air compressors, pressure washers, texture machines, sand blasters, disk sanders and taping machines Erect scaffolding and rigging; spread drop cloths where necessary Remove graffiti using water and various chemicals Mix paint and match colors; clean brushes and other tools and materials Perform quality control inspections of contracted services Safely operate a district fleet vehicle to travel to assigned job sites, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company driving policies Maintain the vehicle in clean, orderly, and serviceable condition, promptly reporting any maintenance needs, damage, or safety concerns Perform related work as assigned or required # of Jobs 1.00
