Responsibilities . Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc. Fill and patch openings, cracks, and holes with appropriate material (e.g. tape, plaster, spackle, etc.) Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture Paint surfaces to high standard according to instructions and trade requirements with various tools Apply varnish and other finishes to best match like conditions Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions and departmental rules Requirements Proven experience as a painter and wallpaper installer Experience in touch up and refinishing wood surfaces and furniture a plus Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction wall preparation and painting techniques Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns, joint tape, putty knife, spatula, etc.) Good basic math skills Conscientious with great attention to detail Physically able to sit, stand, kneel, lift and climb ladders. Work independently or as a team. Able to follow written and verbal instruction. High school diploma; successful completion of an apprenticeship The position is full-time, (Mon.-Fri.) from 8:00am - 3:30pm.

From $28.00 per hour
