Job Details The Hospital Painter is responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior surfaces of the hospital by performing a variety of painting, finishing, and maintenance tasks. This role ensures that all areas of the hospital meet safety, sanitation, and aesthetic standards while minimizing disruption to patient care and hospital operations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Trade school and/or military experience preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of professional painting experience, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting. Prepare and paint surfaces (walls, ceilings, doors, trim, equipment, etc.) throughout the hospital using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Perform surface preparation including patching, sanding, priming, and taping of drywall or plaster. Select appropriate paints, coatings, tools, and materials based on surface type and usage requirements. Match, mix, and blend paint colors to meet facility specifications or existing finishes. Apply sealants, stains, protective coatings, and wall coverings as needed. Repair and maintain painted surfaces in patient rooms, operating rooms, public spaces, offices, and other hospital areas. Safely move or cover medical equipment, furnishings, and protect areas during painting projects. Follow infection control and hospital safety protocols at all times. Coordinate work schedules with department heads to minimize disruption to patients and staff. Maintain accurate records of work orders, paint usage, and maintenance logs. Inspect completed work to ensure quality and adherence to standards. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition. Assist in minor carpentry or wall repair as needed before painting. Recommends and/or prepares purchase requests. Performs other duties as requested. Posted Salary Range Starting from USD $33.00/Hr. The salary rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
