Our goal is to ensure total customer satisfaction while acting as a supportive community partner. We are looking to expand our Maintenance Team, with an opening for a full-time Painter. This is a full-time (9:00am-5:00pm M-F), on-site position (throughout the Jeff Schmitt Auto Group locations) reporting to the Director of Maintenance.

Essential Functions of Job:

Paint walls, equipment, buildings, and other structural surfaces, using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. May remove old paint to prepare surface prior to painting. May mix colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency.

General Duties:

Fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting. Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, or sanding machines. Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors to determine work requirements. Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work. Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats. Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water or abrasive blasting. Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, or electric switch covers prior to painting.

Pay:

$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
