Painter Irwin Paints Edmond, OK Job Details Temporary | Full-time $17 - $21 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Residential painting Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance their aesthetic appeal, and ensure durability. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality results. Duties Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and repairing imperfections to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply primers, paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools. Perform specialized painting tasks including residential painting, commercial painting, industrial coating applications, and restoration projects. Use construction estimating skills to assess project scope, materials needed, and time requirements for each job. Execute related tasks such as caulking, plastering, stucco application, masonry work, fixture installation, trim carpentry, framing carpentry, renovation work, and drywall finishing. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols on construction sites involving scaffolding, welding (where applicable), concrete finishing, masonry work, and handling hazardous materials. Utilize schematics and blueprints for precise application of paint schemes and surface treatments. Assist with general handyman tasks including maintenance and repair work across various construction projects. Experience Proven experience in construction painting with a strong understanding of both residential and commercial environments. Familiarity with construction estimating processes and basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating material quantities. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools (including airless sprayers), scaffolding setup, and safety equipment. Knowledge of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic effects and color matching accuracy. Experience with restoration projects involving plastering, stucco application, caulking, fixture installation, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, masonry, concrete finishing or welding is highly desirable. Previous work on construction sites demonstrating adherence to safety standards and ability to read blueprints or schematics effectively.
