Physical Plant - Painter Job Title Physical Plant - Painter Department Physical Plant Posting Number req728
Description of Job Duties Job Summary:
The Painter reports to the Physical Plant Director with the primary duties of preparing surfaces and paint areas as required. This includes performing minor repairs to items. Acts as a resource for the Physical Plant department and builds effective, strong working relationships to enhance department operations and functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of painting and wall covering tasks such as interior building walls, ceiling, trim, woodwork, furniture, striping baseball and soccer fields, and occasional outside structures, parking lot striping Mix and prepare paint for use Stain and finish cabinets, doors, and stained wood Estimate needed materials for tasks; gather and load necessary items and ensure their proper storage or disposal at the completion of the task Maintain an inventory of paints and related supplies for the campus Assist in other areas as requested Specific assignments are based on unit need and assigned by the supervisor which could include such things as reading labels, assisting in building security, assisting with debris, snow, and ice removal, and using a variety of tools associated with paint work.

Education and Experience Minimum Requirements:
Basic reading and mathematics skills Knowledge of local and state painting codes and regulations
Valid Driver's License Preferred Qualifications:
Previous painting experience Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the President of SWOSU or their designee may find appropriate Anticipated Start Date 6/24/2026 Location Weatherford Employment Type Non-Exempt
