Journeyman Painter (No Recruiters)

Pay:
$25-$35 per hour, depending on experience About Us We are a growing construction and painting company committed to delivering high-quality workmanship, exceptional customer service, and professional results on every project. We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Painter who takes pride in their craft and can effectively supervise Painter Helpers while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Position Summary The Journeyman Painter is responsible for performing skilled painting work, coordinating daily activities on the jobsite, and providing direction, training, and oversight to Painter Helper(s). This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain productivity and quality standards across all phases of painting projects. Responsibilities Painting & Surface Preparation Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming. Apply paints, stains, sealers, epoxies, and specialty coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Read and interpret project specifications, plans, and work orders. Ensure all painting work meets company and customer quality standards. Protect surrounding surfaces and maintain clean, organized work areas. Crew Leadership & Supervision Supervise and direct Painter Helper(s) on assigned projects. Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity and workmanship. Train Painter Helper(s) in proper painting techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use. Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project schedules. Inspect completed work and provide coaching and corrective guidance when needed. Communicate project progress, material needs, and staffing concerns to supervisors. Safety & Equipment Follow and enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and spray equipment. Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition. Promote a safe and professional work environment. Qualifications Journeyman-level painting experience (4+ years preferred). Experience with epoxy, urethane, and specialty coatings. Demonstrated experience leading or supervising Painter Helper(s) or small crews. Strong knowledge of surface preparation, coatings, and application techniques. Ability to read plans, specifications, and paint schedules. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work

Kaminski Construction was born in 2008 at the beginning of the Great Recession. We landed our first job and began to grow, as other construction companies were laying workers off. We have continued to grow and expand our services and now field a crew of about 50 employees.
