Key Skills & Responsibilities Surface Preparation:
Assess surfaces for repair and preparation requirements (e.g., cleaning, sanding, filling cracks). Apply primer and other preparatory coatings as needed.
Painting Execution:
Apply paint, varnishes, and stains to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Ensure uniform finish and adherence to design specifications.
Equipment and Materials Management:
Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools. Safely handle, store, and dispose of paints and other chemicals.
Quality Assurance:
Perform inspections to ensure the highest standard of work. Implement touch-ups and corrections to achieve a flawless finish.
Client Interaction:
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide updates.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure workspaces are clean and hazard-free during and after the job.
Qualifications:
Verifiable experience as a professional residential painter (minimum 3 years preferred) that includes suing paint and stain coatings with brush, roller, and sprayer. Extensive knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials. Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment and are comfortable working on ladders up to 40'. Valid driver's license.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with decorative painting techniques (e.g., faux finishes, stenciling). Knowledge of color theory and design principles. Basic carpentry skills to assist in surface repairs.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a "regular" W2 position. The hourly rate during the initial probational period is typically between $22 to $26 depending on experience. Following the probationary review, compensation may be adjusted based on demonstrated skills, productivity, quality, and fit with the people and culture of Kentco Paintco. Health insurance is available for full-time employees following a probationary period. PTO and Holiday pay for full-time employees following the probationary period.
