Painter Foreman Start This Week Overview We are seeking an experienced Painter Foreman to lead commercial painting crews on new construction and renovation projects. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating daily job site activities, supervising painters, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining project schedules, and providing guidance to team members. The ideal candidate has strong experience in commercial painting, experience leading crews, and the ability to communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and field personnel. Responsibilities Lead and supervise painting crews on commercial new construction and remodel projects. Coordinate daily work activities and ensure projects stay on schedule. Train, mentor, and support painters to maintain high-quality workmanship and productivity. Read and interpret project specifications, blueprints, color schedules, and finish requirements. Inspect surfaces and oversee preparation work including cleaning, sanding, patching, taping, caulking, and priming. Apply and oversee the application of paint, stains, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets company and customer standards. Communicate project progress, manpower needs, and material requirements to management. Enforce safety standards and maintain a clean, organized job site. Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors to ensure efficient project completion. Manage materials, equipment, and job site inventory. Assist with hands-on painting work as needed. Essential Skills 5+ years of commercial and/or residential painting experience. 2+ years of experience leading crews or working in a foreman/supervisory capacity. Strong knowledge of commercial paint systems, coatings, surface preparation, and finishing techniques. Experience using brushes, rollers, airless sprayers, and related painting equipment. Ability to read project plans, specifications, and construction schedules. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Reliable transportation and ability to travel to project sites throughout the area. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based on active commercial construction and renovation job sites. Projects are primarily indoors and may include offices, schools, healthcare facilities, retail spaces, warehouses, and other commercial buildings. Job site locations vary, requiring reliable transportation and flexibility to travel within the local market. The Painter Foreman is expected to maintain a professional presence while ensuring quality, productivity, and safety standards are met on every project. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schaumburg, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
