Duties Prepare surfaces thoroughly through sanding, scraping, caulking, drywall patching, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray techniques), and other hand tools with attention to detail. Utilize construction estimating skills to determine the amount of materials needed for each project accurately. Interpret technical drawings and color schemes to match client specifications and ensure precise color application based on visual color comparison techniques. Conduct surface preparation for structural painting projects such as stucco, drywall, or fixtures before applying coatings or industrial paints. Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations by using respiratory protection, harnesses when working on ladders or scaffolding, and following all safety protocol guidelines. Install fixtures or perform minor handyman tasks related to remodeling or maintenance projects as needed. Requirements Proven experience in residential painting, including brush painting, roller painting, and construction spray painting techniques. Knowledge of construction site safety regulations and the ability to follow safety protocol adherence at all times. Skilled in ladder use and working at heights safely on various residential structures. Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, paint sprayers (including airless paint spraying), and surface preparation equipment. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately for precise application work. Basic math skills for measuring surfaces, calculating paint quantities, and estimating project costs. Experience with drywall installation/repair, caulking, stucco finishing, fixture installation, or industrial painting is a plus. Strong construction site experience with renovation or remodeling projects; construction estimating knowledge is advantageous.
