BASIC FUNCTION
Prepare, patch, finish, and maintain all surfaces, (wood, plaster, drywall, wallpaper, steel, concrete, brick, etc.) by recognized procedures and techniques of the painting trade.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Paint, prepare, repair, and maintain all surfaces, interior and exterior in conjunction with decorated or protected areas (including furniture and equipment). Inspect work site to determine procedure, material and equipment needed to complete assignment as professionally and quickly as possible. Transport materials, tools and equipment to the work site, as needed. Request material, tools, and equipment, as needed, from the Lead Painter. Protect personnel and equipment from bodily harm and damage at all times. Perform minor glass repairs and replacement. This position is considered to be "essential personnel", and may be assigned work in other areas during emergency situations.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Painter and/or Assistant Director of Facilities. May be required to perform duties such as custodial, distribution, grounds, or snow removal during emergency or critical situations as may be directed by Management. This position is classified as an "essential position". Employees who occupy an essential position ("essential personnel"), may be required to be on campus during emergencies, when work and/or classes have been cancelled. Exceptions may apply and will be determined by the department/office supervisor on a case-by-case basis.LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT
Valid driver's license required.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
This position is subject to outside work and extreme cold and hot temperatures may be encountered in this position. The potential exists where noise, vibration, hazards, and atmospheric conditions might also be encountered. Use of protective equipment required. The Painter must be especially aware of any impact of safety and security. Must be neat in work appearance.Requirements:
Required:
A high school diploma or GED is required. Must have a minimum of two years' experience in the painting trade. Must be skilled in all phases of house painting, refinishing, and hanging of wallpaper. Ability to do assigned work without constant supervision. Ability to work overtime when required. Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Must be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with supervisor, fellow workers and students. Must be neat in work appearance.Preferred:
