Job Description

Description Title:
Maintenance Painter Reports to :
Facilities Director Purpose:
Responsible for general painting and providing a safe and clean work environment. ==============================================================
Duties and Responsibilities:
Advocates for the mission of the organization and upholds the agency's values. Prepare surfaces, mix paints for different needs, and apply them with brushes or rollers to fill cracks or apply color on walls, ceilings and other objects around facilities. Prepare walls and other structures for painting by scraping, sandpaper, removing old paint etc. Repair damaged surfaces, holes, and cracks. (Compound) Exam surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary to fulfill assignments. Perform routine painting maintenance. Complete work orders as assigned. Timely completion of unit turnovers and common area painting. Provide superior customer service.
Requirements Experience and Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Apprenticeship, technical or building trade education helpful. Proven experience as a painter. One year or more of painting experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them. Solid knowledge of residential and/or commercial painting techniques. Well organized, able to prioritize own work and maintain material inventory. Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.) Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc. Conscientious with great attention to detail. Quick learner interested in expanding knowledge and experience. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Team builder- inspires and motivates others to perform their best. Can work effectively independently as well as a member of a team. Commitment to Task-is tenacious, can achieve results in an environment where priorities change quickly. Must complete ladder safety training. Must have valid drivers license. Physical requirements Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, etc. Ability to work in an environment in which the job is performed, such as working in hot, cold, dusty, etc. conditions.
