Sanding Full Job Description Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Journeyman Painter to lead a crew across a variety of residential projects throughout the year. This role shifts seasonally—focusing on exterior house painting and deck staining during the summer months, and transitioning to cabinet finishing and interior painting work during the winter. This position requires a strong leader who can manage crews, maintain high-quality standards, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise crews on residential painting projects Perform and oversee exterior house painting and deck staining in summer Execute cabinet finishing and interior painting during winter months Ensure proper surface preparation (sanding, scraping, patching, priming, masking) Apply coatings with precision, including brush, roll, and spray applications Maintain job timelines and manage labor/material budgets Communicate clearly with clients, team members, and management Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites Train and mentor team members to improve skill and efficiency

Qualifications:

Journeyman-level experience in residential painting Proven experience with exterior painting and deck staining Strong background in cabinet finishing and interior work Leadership experience managing crews and job sites Ability to stay on schedule and within budget High attention to detail and quality craftsmanship Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Skills:

Spray finishing experience for cabinets and millwork Knowledge of coatings for different weather conditions and surfaces Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing job conditions
