Job Overview Flagship Facility Services is seeking a skilled Commercial Painter with a strong background in painting and general building maintenance. This position is responsible for performing commercial painting projects, preventive maintenance tasks, and minor facility repairs to ensure buildings, equipment, and common areas remain safe, functional, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will possess painting expertise, basic maintenance knowledge, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining a safe work environment. Responsibilities Painting & Surface Restoration Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, plastering, caulking, and applying primer as needed for optimal paint adhesion. Perform interior and exterior commercial painting using brushes, rollers, airless paint sprayers, and other painting equipment. Repair and prepare drywall surfaces, including patching holes, texture matching, and finishing repairs prior to painting. Ensure proper protection of surrounding surfaces and maintain clean work areas throughout project completion. Perform touch-up painting and cosmetic repairs throughout occupied commercial facilities. Facility Maintenance & Repair Perform routine building maintenance and preventive maintenance inspections. Complete minor repairs involving drywall, ceilings, doors, locks, flooring, fixtures, cabinetry, and building finishes. Assist with basic plumbing repairs, including faucet repairs, fixture replacements, and unclogging drains. Assist with basic electrical maintenance, including replacing light fixtures, lamps, ballasts, switches, and outlets. Perform minor carpentry work, including trim repair, framing, hardware installation, and general facility repairs. Respond to facility service requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner. Identify maintenance issues and report deficiencies requiring specialized repair services. Qualifications & Skills Experience performing commercial painting, building maintenance, or general facility repair work. Strong knowledge of surface preparation, paint application techniques, coatings, and finishing methods. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, including airless paint sprayers and maintenance equipment. Ability to perform drywall repair, plastering, caulking, texture matching, and minor carpentry repairs. Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical maintenance principles. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems. Knowledge of commercial facility safety standards and OSHA requirements. Basic math skills for measurements, material calculations, and estimating project needs. Experience with framing carpentry, trim carpentry, masonry, concrete finishing, welding, industrial painting, or commercial facility maintenance is a plus. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced commercial environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work from ladders, and perform physical tasks associated with facility maintenance and painting. Preferred Qualifications Maintenance Technician I experience in commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, or airport facilities. Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
