Job Description
Job Overview Fisher Painting is looking for an experienced Drywall Finisher / Painter to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is skilled in drywall repair and finishing and also has professional painting experience. A large portion of this position will involve drywall patching, repairing damaged areas, matching existing textures/finishes, and preparing repaired surfaces for paint . Some projects will require more extensive drywall work, including skimming full walls or larger areas to achieve a smooth, paint-ready finish . When drywall work is not needed, this position will work alongside our painting crews performing interior and exterior painting. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing clean, professional work and can handle projects from the initial drywall repair through the finished coat of paint. Experience The ideal candidate will have experience with: Professional drywall repair and finishing Patching holes, cracks, and damaged drywall Taping, mudding, and sanding Applying multiple coats of joint compound and achieving a smooth finish Skim coating full walls and larger areas Matching existing wall textures and finishes Preparing drywall repairs properly for primer and paint Interior and exterior painting Brush, roller, and spray applications Surface preparation, masking, caulking, sanding, and priming Working efficiently while maintaining a high-quality finished product Previous professional drywall finishing experience is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Perform drywall patches and repairs ranging from small holes to larger damaged areas Tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall to a professional standard Skim coat full walls when required Match existing textures and finishes as closely as possible Properly protect surrounding floors, furniture, fixtures, and finished surfaces Prime repaired areas and prepare them for painting Perform interior and exterior painting when drywall work is not scheduled Prepare surfaces by sanding, scraping, caulking, masking, and priming Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment as needed Maintain clean and organized work areas Properly care for company tools and equipment Communicate with supervisors regarding job progress, materials, and potential issues Follow company procedures and jobsite safety requirements Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while working in customers' homes and businesses Work independently when needed and as part of a crew on larger projects What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in their craftsmanship . The right person should be comfortable moving between drywall and painting work depending on the needs of our projects. Most importantly, we need someone who understands what a paint-ready drywall finish should look like and is capable of consistently producing that level of work.
