Job Description

Handley Construction is seeking a Painting Apprentice to join our in-house painting crew working on custom homes, remodels, and residential construction projects throughout the Walla Walla Valley. This position provides hands-on experience in both interior and exterior residential painting. Apprentices work alongside experienced painters learning proper preparation, finishing techniques, spraying systems, and jobsite practices used in high-quality residential construction. We are looking for someone who takes pride in clean, detailed work and wants to develop long-term skills in the trade. Primary ResponsibilitiesSurface Preparation Assist with masking, covering, and protecting finished surfaces Help with sanding, scraping, caulking, and patching surfaces Prepare walls, trim, siding, and other surfaces for paint application Interior Painting Assist with painting walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and cabinetry Learn proper rolling, brushing, and spray application techniques Help maintain clean cut lines and consistent finishes Exterior Painting Assist with preparation and painting of siding, soffits, fascia, and exterior trim Help with setup and operation of ladders, scaffolding, and spray equipment Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout projects Equipment & Jobsite Operations Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment Assist with material staging and jobsite organization Help maintain safe and efficient work environments What You'll Learn Professional residential painting techniques Surface preparation and finish quality standards Spray equipment setup and operation Interior and exterior coating systems Jobsite protection and workflow practices
Pay:
$17.50 - $28.00 per hour
