Job Description

The Lake Lawn Resort has been a Wisconsin hospitality landmark for over 140 years, offering exceptional guest experiences across 250+ acres of lakeside property. Our Engineering & Facilities team plays a crucial role in maintaining the resort's beauty, safety, and quality—and we're looking for a talented Painter to help keep our spaces looking their best. Position Overview The Painter is responsible for maintaining the appearance and integrity of the resort's interior and exterior surfaces. This role includes completing painting, staining, finishing, drywall repair, and touch‑up work across guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and back‑of‑house facilities. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Prep, prime, and paint interior and exterior surfaces according to resort standards Perform drywall patching, taping, sanding, and texturing Apply stains, varnishes, lacquers, and specialty finishes as required Maintain an organized paint shop and inventory of materials Ensure all work areas are clean, safe, and properly protected Assist with minor carpentry repairs related to surface preparation Communicate with engineering leadership regarding project timelines and material needs Support seasonal projects, renovations, and ongoing maintenance programs Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and chemical handling Qualifications Previous professional painting experience required (hospitality, commercial, or residential) Proficiency in drywall repair, surface prep, and finish work Knowledge of paint types, coatings, application tools, and industry best practices Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders/scaffolding, and work in various weather conditions Basic carpentry skills a plus Experience in a resort or hotel environment preferred What We Offer Competitive compensation Health, dental, vision, and life insurance Paid time off and holiday pay Resort-wide discounts (golf, dining, spa, lodging, activities) Opportunities for growth within the Engineering Department A supportive team atmosphere and a beautiful lakeside work environment
