Painter/Prep Hand

Overview We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction painting and possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes on various projects. Attention to detail and a commitment to safety are essential. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as needed. Apply paint, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Read and interpret blueprints to determine the scope of work and required materials. Perform plastering tasks to repair walls and ceilings before painting. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition; perform minor repairs as necessary. Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and concrete finishers on job sites. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment. Experience Proven experience in construction painting or related fields is preferred. Familiarity with basic math skills for measuring areas and calculating paint quantities. Ability to read blueprints and understand project specifications. Skills in plastering, welding, frame carpentry, or maintenance person tasks are a plus. Experience with concrete finishing techniques is beneficial but not required.
