Job Description

Build Something From the Ground Up. Established $10M/year mechanical contractor is looking to launch and grow an in-house pipefitting division. We are seeking a seasoned pipefitter who is ready to step out of the day-to-day field work while still leading projects, mentoring crews, and helping build a successful department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with extensive mechanical piping experience who wants to leverage their knowledge, leadership, and industry relationships to create something lasting. Responsibilities Oversee mechanical piping projects from planning through completion Manage field crews, manpower, scheduling, and job execution Perform piping takeoffs from plans and specifications Prepare estimates and budgets for piping projects Order materials and coordinate equipment procurement Assist with project bidding and scope development Provide technical expertise on all mechanical piping systems Develop standards, procedures, and best practices for the pipefitting division Mentor and train pipefitters and apprentices Coordinate with project managers, customers, vendors, and subcontractors Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and profitably Qualifications Extensive experience in mechanical piping installation and fabrication Proven experience performing takeoffs, estimating, and material procurement Strong understanding of project costing, labor forecasting, and job budgeting Strong knowledge of: Hydronic piping Chilled water systems Heating hot water systems Boiler systems Refrigeration piping Commercial and industrial mechanical piping Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents Proven leadership and jobsite management experience Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Experience building and developing teams is highly desirable What We Offer Competitive salary position Performance bonuses tied to the growth and profitability of the pipefitting department Opportunity to build and lead a new division within an established and growing mechanical contractor Company vehicle and fuel card (if applicable) Benefits package Long-term leadership and advancement opportunities Ideal Candidate You're a highly experienced pipefitter who understands the field, knows how to estimate work, perform takeoffs, order materials, and run profitable projects.
