Plans and lays out installion, repair, and/or modificion of low and high pressure piping systems and equipment applying and interpreting informion in blueprints, charts, and sketches. Troubleshoots/inspects low and high-pressure piping systems and equipment and determines need for modificion and/or repair to insure proper and safe operion. Operes wer collection, trement, transmission, storage, and supply systems. Operes equipment and adjusts and regules altitude valves and distribution pumps to maintain adeque wer levels in reservoirs and storage tanks. Maintains and operes swimming pool wer trement equipment and associed processes throughout the base. Selectee must obtain or possess a lock out/tag out and non-entry confined space training and be capable of wearing safety equipment of trade. Selectee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. The employee required to to work emergency situions. IDEAL CANDIDATE
Our Ideal candide is someone th has: Five years of wer/ wastewer/ fire suppression/ nural gas industry operions experience desired. Five years of experience in pipefitting/ plumbing desired. Five years of experience working in wer utilities, in operions desired.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
(KSAs) 1. Knowledge of low and high-pressure piping systems and equipment such as hydraulic systems, circuling pumps, and air compressors 2. Knowledge of technical practices sufficient to determine need for modificions and repairs to identified systems. 3. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures. 4. Knowledge of how various supply, disposal, and utility systems and equipment, such as wer and nural gas systems, fire sprinkler equipment, and wer closets are installed and opere. 5. Knowledge of wer trement operion to include monitoring pumping equipment and gauges, adjusting valves and pumps to control and aere wer flow, and conducting wer sampling tests such as fluoride, chloramines or chloride content and ion concentrion (pH) levels. 6.Knowledge of filtrion processes such as mixed media filters, slow sand filtrion, gravity rapid sand, or anthrafilt filtrion and pressure filtrion, normally associed with surface wer trement. 7. Knowledge of the individual and combined effects of chemicals and compounds th are used in disinfection of wer mains or service lines, and reservoirs after maintenance or repair. 8. Skill in troubleshooting/inspecting piping systems to identify irregularities and existing and/or potential problems and system malfunctions. 9. Skill in using and maintaining hand and power tools such as, wrenches, pipe threaders, cutters, dividers, chalk lines, drills, grinders, closet augers, hydrostic pumps, and ground fault interrupter equipment. 10. Skill in the use of any of the accepted trade methods and techniques, such as setting equipment, and installing any combinions of couplings, unions, and joints needed for the proper operion of the system. 11. Ability to install, modify, troubleshoots, maintain, and repair new and existing sewage, industrial or and domestic low and high-pressure piping systems and equipment with limited supervision. 12. Ability to interpret instructions, specificions, and informion in blueprints, charts, and sketches to plan and layout installion, repair, and/or modificion of high pressure piping systems and equipment.
