In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting and repairing fire sprinkler systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Your duties will typically include replacing defective and outdated sprinklers, pipes, and fittings designed for sprinklers. Additionally, you will be expected to test sprinkler systems to ensure that they are well functioning as they wear and tear over time. As a sprinkler fitter, you may also be tasked to educate the public about the importance of having functional sprinklers as part of fire prevention measures. •Pipe Fitter card required. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to fire sprinkler systems and piping layouts. Install, assemble, and maintain fire sprinkler piping systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as pipe threading machines and tube benders. Measure, cut, and bend pipes accurately while adhering to NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards. Conduct pipe threading, caliper measurements, and use other mechanical tools to ensure precise installation of sprinkler components. Follow all safety regulations related to construction sites, power tool operation, welding procedures, rigging practices, and NFPA standards to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members on pipe installation, system testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal system performance. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports, incident logs, and compliance documentation for regulatory audits. Requirements Proven experience in fire sprinkler fitting. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans. Ability to operate hand tools such as calipers and power tools safely while following all safety protocols. Familiarity with NFPA standards for fire protection systems. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fitting projects. Construction site experience with an emphasis on safety regulations and hazard awareness. Strong communication skills for interpreting schematics and collaborating effectively within a team environment.
