Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Pipefitter to join our dynamic chemical manufacturing facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for Installs, maintains, repairs, and inspects mechanical equipment and process piping systems in a chemical manufacturing facility comprised of multiple production, administrative, laboratory, and warehouse buildings. Responsibilities Installs, maintains, and repairs equipment such as pumps, mixers, filters, piping systems, heating and cooling systems, process vessels, and plumbing using hand and power tools. Performs monitoring activities throughout the facility to ensure the proper operation of boilers, cooling water systems, emergency water systems, air compressors, hydraulic pumps, and wastewater systems. Performs preventative maintenance activities such as oil changes, lubrication, drive belt changes, filter changes, and internal and external inspections. Works with operations and engineering personnel to troubleshoot equipment failures to ensure safe operation with minimal down time. May requisition equipment, materials, and supplies. Uses powered industrial vehicles such as gas and electric powered fork trucks, scissor lifts, articulating lifts, and earth movers. Uses proper rigging techniques to safely lift and position heavy equipment for installation or removal. May be assigned to perform duties not specifically listed in this job description, but within the scope and skill level for the role.
Qualifications Education:
Minimum high school degree, (preferably from degreed technical program). Two-year Technical community college certificate preferred.
Experience:
2-3 years as a Maintenance Pipefitter, chemical plant operation preferred. Experience as a pipefitter working in an industrial facility or working for a mechanical contractor preferred. Experience in multiple methods of pipe jointing including threading, grooving, brazing, welding/flanging, and using compression fittings.

$34.00 - $39.00 per hour
