Must have DOT Welding Certification to work on job site About the Company A horizontal boring contractor headquartered in metro Atlanta, running 5 self-performing crews on horizontal directional boring projects across the Southeast — storm drains, bridges, port infrastructure, and other underground utility work. The company has a steady, long-duration project backlog including active DOT and port work. Why This Role A welding-focused seat — you do the work you're certified for, not a mix of trades Long-duration projects with real backlog behind them, not short-cycle in-and-out work Small, established team with consistent crews and a steady DOT and port infrastructure pipeline All tools and equipment provided What You'll Be Doing Weld 6G pipe on active jobsites — welding-only, no pipe-laying Move between two project sites located roughly 1,500 feet apart Pair with a second welder on each pipe joint — you weld one side and visually inspect the other welder's work Travel to project sites across Georgia and occasionally South Carolina Current and Upcoming Work Active I-95 storm drain project tied to a major port extension (12-18 month duration) A second long-term Savannah-area project lined up directly behind it Ideal Background 6G pipe welding certification in hand — must pass the DOT welding test Based in Georgia, ideally Savannah or metro Atlanta, to keep travel manageable Comfortable working outdoors in Southeast heat at a fast pace — Savannah jobsites are demanding and speed matters Reliable and able to commit to 50-55 hours/week including every other Saturday Schedule Monday-Friday, 7 AM to 6-7 PM, plus every other Saturday 50-55 hours/week typical Benefits Medical/insurance benefits 401(k) after 90 days Per diem and hotel coverage on traveling jobs This search is being conducted by NewCrew, a recruiting firm specializing in the construction, engineering, and architecture industries.
