Job Description Gehring Underground, Inc. is a growing company located in Columbus, IN seeking candidates to join the team. A Class A CDL is preferred but not required and for those without, the company has a tuition reimbursement program to help those interested in obtaining their CDL achieve that goal. Previous experience working in the underground utility/directional drilling field is also preferred, but Gehring Underground, Inc. places a strong emphasis on training our employees from within for those that want to further their capabilities. Our company is dedicated to partnering with our customers and the general public at large to complete all projects in the safest, most efficient manner possible!
Job Duties:
Successfully locate existing utilities either via hand-digging or by operating a hydro-vac. Pull and place wire into conduit or open trenches per customer specifications. Safely learn to operate and maintain all company-owned vehicles, equipment and tools required for the job. Safely and successfully install electric cable into a meter base, pedestal, or transformer. Ensure ongoing compliance with company Health & Safety procedures and have the ability to speak up and draw attention to any issues you deem unsafe.
Qualifications :
Previous experience in a utility or maintenance role is a plus but not required. Class A CDL is preferred but not required or the desire to obtain a CDL is required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment. Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
