In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining underground piping systems essential for wastewater, stormwater, sanitary drainage, and utility infrastructure projects. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient installation of pipelines that meet all technical specifications and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to vital infrastructure projects while working with heavy equipment and construction plans in a fast-paced environment. Duties Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and prepare sites for pipe installation. Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately follow project specifications. Install underground utilities including sanitary sewers, water supply systems, stormwater systems, and oil & gas pipelines according to blueprint instructions. Use precision tools such as pipe lasers and hand tools to ensure proper pipe alignment, elevation, and connection. Conduct trenching activities while adhering strictly to federal construction safety regulations and safety protocols. Perform concrete finishing and forming work for structures related to utility installations when necessary. Locate existing underground utilities using utility locating equipment before excavation begins to prevent damage or accidents. Follow all safety regulations diligently during heavy equipment operation and construction site activities. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports, safety logs, and project documentation. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks in a construction setting. Strong knowledge of pipe installation techniques for sanitary sewers, water systems, stormwater management, and underground utilities. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately. Familiarity with utility trenching procedures and underground utility locating methods. Skilled in using hand tools, concrete forming tools, pipe lasers, welding equipment, and other relevant tools for construction tasks. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols during all phases of work. Experience with wastewater systems, sanitary drainage systems, pipeline installation projects, plumbing applications, and oil & gas infrastructure is highly desirable. Excellent physical stamina with the ability to perform strenuous labor outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid certifications in heavy equipment operation; additional certifications in welding or pipeline installation are a plus.
