Pipe Layer - Underground Utilities Slater Brothers Enterprise is looking for an experienced Pipe Layer to join our growing construction crew. This position involves installing underground utility systems including storm drain, sewer, and water lines on commercial and civil construction projects. We are looking for someone dependable, safety-focused, and experienced working in fast-paced field environments. The ideal candidate understands trench safety, pipe installation standards, grade checking, and can work efficiently as part of a crew. Responsibilities Measure and configure pipe routes according to project plans and specifications Dig trenches using hand tools and machine-assisted trenching equipment Install storm drain, sewer, and water main piping systems Lay pipe to proper line and grade Check alignment and ensure proper pipe spacing and connections Seal joints and fittings using approved materials and methods Install auxiliary utility lines and related components Locate existing underground utilities and piping systems Remove and replace damaged or outdated piping systems when required Backfill and compact trenches safely and properly Maintain a clean and safe job site Follow OSHA safety standards and company procedures at all times Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous experience as a Pipe Layer required Strong knowledge of underground utility installation and pipe fitting techniques Experience with sewer systems, storm drains, and water mains Ability to read blueprints, grade stakes, and utility plans Experience working around excavation and trenching equipment Understanding of trench safety requirements Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions Reliable transportation and strong attendance Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Experience with laser levels and grade checking CDL is a plus What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Overtime opportunities Stable, year-round work Growth opportunities within the company Team-oriented work environment Apply today to join a company that values hard work, safety, and quality craftsmanship.
