In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems across various shipyard environments. Your expertise in welding, pipe threading, schematic reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential to ensure the safe and efficient operation of piping infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your technical skills to deliver top-quality craftsmanship in a fast-paced setting. Duties Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble piping systems in accordance with ASME codes & standards. Perform welding operations including
MIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG, and welding to join pipes securely and meet project specifications. Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and pipe threading equipment to cut, bend, solder, and assemble pipes for plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler fitting, pipeline, and other mechanical systems. Conduct rigging and assembly of piping components on construction sites or manufacturing facilities while adhering to safety protocols. Measure materials precisely with calipers and perform basic math calculations for accurate pipe fabrication and installation. Maintain compliance with industry standards by following schematics, blueprints, and ASME codes during installation and maintenance activities. Support maintenance tasks by troubleshooting pipe issues, performing soldering repairs, tube bending, and routine inspections to ensure system integrity. Experience Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within construction sites or manufacturing environments. Demonstrated proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, fire sprinkler fitting, and welding techniques. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings effectively. Familiarity with pipe threading tools, hand tools, power tools, calipers, and schematics for precise fabrication work. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards relevant to pipeline installation and maintenance. Experience working on HVAC systems or plumbing projects is highly desirable. Ability to work safely on construction sites while managing rigging tasks and adhering to safety regulations related to welding and pipefitting activities.
