Pipe Fitter Job Description We are seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join our team. You will work on various industrial projects, requiring expertise in pipe fitting, installation, and maintenance across different materials and systems. Responsibilities Run piping through active industrial production facilities. Work with butt weld and socket weld systems, up to 8" diameter steel pipe. Interpret plan view and elevation view drawings for project understanding. Understand P&ID diagrams to coordinate installation of valves and instruments. Generate isometric drawings for fabrication in a shop environment. Field route piping as required by the client. Work with welded, threaded, Victaulic piping, carbon, and stainless steel. Read and understand P&ID and orthogonal drawings. Create isometric drawings. Layout pipelines including elevation, direction, and flow changes. Install in-line instrumentation, valves, and appurtenances. Occasionally work weekends; typical workweek is four 10-hour days starting at 6:30 AM. Work will be split between VA and MD locations. Essential Skills 2-5 years of previous experience in pipe fitting, preferably in an industrial environment. Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, fiberglass, PVC, HDPE, and copper piping. Ability to interpret technical drawings and generate isometric drawings. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards. Familiarity with SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW welding processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Flexibility to work in both clean (food-grade) and dirty (recycling facilities) environments. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. Work Environment You will work onsite at heavy industrial projects, including new construction for manufacturing plants and heavy mechanical construction. Be prepared to work in various weather conditions, as the role may involve shoveling snow to access work sites. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
