Job DescriptionThe Pipe Fitter will fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems at CMI's customer site in Beltsville, MD.Key Job FunctionsReview design specifications and blueprints to determine the layout of piping systems.

Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes (using saws, torches, and threaders) to fit precise dimensions.

Assemble and secure pipe systems to walls and structural steel using brackets, clamps, hangers, and welding equipment.

Connect pipes using various methods, including welding, soldering, brazing, fusing, or cementing joints.

Run pressure tests and inspections on installed systems to check for leaks and ensure compliance with safety codes.

Troubleshoot malfunctions and repair or replace broken pipes, valves, and supports in existing systems.

Perform other pipe fitter related duties as requiredQualificationsHigh School Diploma or EquivalentMust have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the pipe fitting fieldAbility to read and interpret blueprints.

Experience performing related services within a government facility Thorough understanding of workplace safety guidelines and building codes, especially when handling volatile or hazardous materials.

The ability to lift heavy materials, climb scaffolding, bend, and work in cramped or high environments.

Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English languageMust be able to pass a government background checkAdditional Information
