In this role, you will be responsible for installing underground piping systems essential for infrastructure projects, ensuring precise placement and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will help lay the groundwork for vital utilities such as water, sewer, and gas. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that make a tangible impact on communities and infrastructure development. Exclusive Excavating, Inc has been in operation for six years, with over 30 years of excavation experience. We specialize in site preparation, underground utility installation and repair, and concrete footings for Southeast Metro Detroit and surrounding areas. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket operation machinery to excavate trenches and prepare sites for pipe installation. Lay and connect various types of piping systems with precision. Perform rigging tasks to safely lift and position pipes and related materials during installation. Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground utilities before excavation begins, preventing damage or accidents. Use hand tools and power tools to assist in pipe fitting, welding, and securing connections according to project specifications. Follow safety protocols related to construction site operations, heavy equipment operation, climbing, and electrical work to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members on site setup, material handling, and project progress updates to ensure timely completion of tasks. Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, bucket trucks, and other construction machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge related to pipe installation, welding techniques, rigging procedures, and electrical systems including high voltage and low voltage wiring. Skilled in utility locating methods and cabling techniques essential for underground infrastructure projects. Familiarity with construction site safety practices including climbing safety protocols and proper use of hand tools and power tools. Knowledge of electrical experience relevant to utility work or construction environments. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining a proactive approach on site.

Pay:

$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
