Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipelayer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for laying pipes for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. This role requires a strong understanding of construction site operations and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely. Duties Lay and install various types of pipes, including concrete, PVC, and clay. Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of piping systems. Dig trenches using hand tools or machinery to prepare for pipe installation. Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, and forklifts as needed. Utilize pipe lasers for precise alignment and grade control during installation. Conduct utility locating to avoid damaging existing underground utilities. Perform concrete finishing tasks as required for pipe connections. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and standards. Skills Proficient in construction site operations with a focus on pipelaying techniques. Strong ability to read blueprints and technical drawings related to piping systems. Experience in operating heavy machinery including loaders, backhoes, and forklifts. Knowledge of utility locating practices to prevent damage during excavation. Familiarity with welding techniques is a plus for joining pipe sections when necessary. Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate installations and compliance with specifications.
