Job Description
Montana Sulphur & Chemical Company, located in Billings, Montana, is seeking to fill a position of Pipe Welder / Pipe Fitter .Montana Sulphur is a privately held sulfur manufacturing and refinery services business, established in 1955. Principal products are targeted at fertilizer and manufacturing users.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of pipe welding and/or pipe fitting experience in an industrial, refinery, manufacturing, chemical plant, or similar environment preferred. Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings. Proficient in pipe fabrication, fit-up, layout, and installation. Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and other industrial piping systems preferred. Ability to safely operate welding, cutting, grinding, rigging, and material handling equipment. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. or more. Must have a strong work ethic and the ability to focus on quality, listen well, and follow instructions. Must have basic computer knowledge and good interpersonal skills. Position is physically demanding and requires climbing ladders, working at heights, entering confined spaces, and working outdoors in all seasons. Must be willing to work overtime, call-outs, and some holidays as required. Valid Montana driver's license required. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Duties:
Fabricate, fit, install, modify, repair, and maintain industrial piping systems. Perform pipe welding using SMAW (stick), GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and other welding processes as required. Read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, and specifications. Cut, bevel, fit, align, and assemble piping systems and structural components. Install valves, pumps, process equipment, and associated piping. Troubleshoot and repair process piping, utility piping, and related equipment. Operate forklifts, man lifts, and other equipment as required. Perform preventative maintenance and plant improvement projects. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Comply with all company safety policies and procedures. Will include working alone and unsupervised for extended periods.
Hours:
Four 10 hour shifts per week, overtime as required.
Pay:
$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
