Position Summary :
Must live or be willing to relocate to within a one hour radius of MB Haynes Corporation's main office in Asheville, NC. In this entry level construction role, you will work under the direct supervision of a qualified Journeyman Pipefitter. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, maintaining piping and piping systems, fixtures, equipment for steam, hot water, heating , cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems. While the primary duty of this position is assisting the Pipefitter, Haynes Industrial is an industrial maintenance company - our craftsman must work in multiple disciplines for our industrial customers. Our people become skilled multi-craftsman.
Specific Responsibilities:
Measuring, cutting, threading and assembling new pipe, placing the assembled pipe in hangers or other supports. Cutting or drilling holes in walls or floors to accommodate the passage of pipes. Performing rough-ins, repairing and replacing fixtures and water heaters, locate, repair, or remove leaking or broken pipes. Assisting pipe fitters in the layout, assembly, and installation of piping for air, ammonia, gas, and water systems. Cutting pipe and lifting up to pipe fitters. Fitting or assisting in fitting valves, couplings, or assemblies to tanks, pumps or systems, using hand tools. Disassembling and removing damaged or worn pipe.
Requirements :
Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid drivers license. Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance. Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the job site, inspectors, customers and the public. Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds. Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools.
