Job Description

Jymco Construction Company looking for a pipe labor willing to work hard and learn to move up in different positions within the company.
Summary:
Pipe Layers are responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm. Ensures ground is prepped and trenches are dug out for pipes. Also aligns pipes and seals joints together with cement or glue. Pipe Layers will work with the pipe crew setting RCP and PVC and ductile pipe for pipe extensions and full pipe crossings.
Job description:
Minimum 1 year Experience as a lead pipe layer work with Foreman to understand daily task at hand. Take action to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects. Locate underground services, such as pipes and wires, prior to beginning work. Set up pipe laser, calculate grades and lay gravity systems to grade. Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment Ability to operate pipe saw, shovel and hand tools is required, along with the ability to learn to operate rammax. Unload tools when arriving to job, ( shovels, pump set up, generator etc..) Willing to work hard and get muddy. Valid Drivers License.
Basic Duties:
Assure all safety equipment, tools, parts and pipe are in work area Be alert to jobsite, other people and equipment in order to complete daily task safely. Check pipe, gaskets and accessories for defects. Assist with establishing grades and the set up and the use of the laser. Watch and observe for unmarked utilities and poor wall conditions as the trench is being dug.
