Job Description

SIGN ON BONUS
What You'll Do Install underground utility pipe: water line, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage Prepare pipe bedding and backfill trenches with appropriate materials Seal pipe joints and verify grade, alignment, and depth Use lasers, grade rods, and transit levels Read plans, cut sheets, and locate existing utilities Cut pipe to length and coordinate with equipment operators Follow OSHA trench safety and all Defender Construction safety policies Required Qualifications At least 2 year of underground utility experience (water, sanitary, storm) Work alongside operator to set Manholes , Catch Basins , and other precast structures to correct plan elevation. Working knowledge of bedding, backfill, and joint sealing Set up and operate pipe and rotary laser Ability to read blueprints, specs, and cut sheets. Self perform invert calculations Comfortable working independently and as part of a crew OSHA Trenching and Excavating certification Physical Requirements Physically demanding work for long periods at a time. Frequently lift up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs. Exposure to outdoor weather, noise, dust, and vibration.
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
