MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SCP
Cert (Or able to take refresher).
MUST HAVE PREVIOUS SHIPYARD EXPERIENCE.
$27 per hour. Per diem is approvable. 40+ hours a week, OT expected. A Safety Inspector/SCP shall be responsible for fulfilling the criteria as listed below detailing knowledge, tasks required, roles and responsibilities of the job position.
Responsibilities:
Conduct daily inspections of assigned areas ensuring that all operations are in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations and HS policies and procedures; identify HS hazards or deficiencies and initiates corrective action through production supervision. Certifies confined space entry onboard Vessel. Keep certificates and records maintained in accordance to regulated standards. Able to calibrate, use, and operate Air Sampling instruments/meters as needed. Insure inspection on scaffolding systems daily prior to commencement of work.
Required Experience:
2+ years in heavy industrial or maritime staffing, human resources, or crew coordination.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTES
Ability and willingness to learn skills and trade related tasks Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong work ethic. Ability to work safely in a variety of industrial environments while performing tasks.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple training schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing training needs.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This role will perform work in an office, shop, and shipyard environment.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time during meetings, training sessions, site visits, and industry events.
  • Travel locally and regionally to training facilities, educational institutions, employer sites, shipyards, and partner locations. This role will require occasional travel to other regions within the United States.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when required, including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, respirator, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear, as required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 15lbs.
  • Lifting includes from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, waist to overhead.
  • May be required to climb stairs or ladders.
