Day Shift Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join our construction team working on underground utility projects. This role involves installing, assembling, and maintaining various types of piping systems including sanitary, storm, and sewer lines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in trench work and utility installation and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Install sanitary sewer, storm drain, and water/sewer piping systems Perform trench layout, grading, and pipe alignment according to project specifications Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and site plans Ensure proper pipe slope, alignment, and depth Assist with trench preparation, including shoring and safety compliance Work alongside equipment operators and laborers to complete installations efficiently Perform backfilling and compaction as required Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with OSHA standards
Qualifications:
Minimum 2+ years of proven pipe laying experience in construction or utility work Experience with sanitary, storm, and sewer piping systems required Ability to read and interpret construction plans and grade stakes Knowledge of trenching and excavation safety practices Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in heavy civil or underground utility construction Familiarity with equipment such as excavators and backhoes OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in trenches for extended periods Comfortable working long hours as needed
