Job Description
Overview Scopes Facility Servicesis a newly established, growing HVAC company serving Massachusetts and the greater New England area. We are looking for a licensed Massachusetts Master Gas Fitter to serve as our official Master of Record .This is an excellent opportunity for a semi-retired professional, an inspector, or an experienced tradesperson looking to transition away from heavy physical field labor while keeping their license active and generating a steady income. In this role, you will not be required to perform daily hands-on installations. Instead, your primary responsibility will be leveraging your Master license to secure municipal gas permits for our corporation, ensuring our field technicians operate in full compliance with 248 CMR (Massachusetts Fuel Gas and Plumbing Code). Duties Lead and supervise HVAC teams specializing in gas fitting, ensuring all work adheres to local building codes, plumbing regulations, and safety standards. Manage the permit application process by preparing necessary documentation, submitting permits, and maintaining accurate records for all gas fitting projects. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute construction plans related to domestic water systems, HVAC integration, and commercial plumbing systems. Conduct building code analysis to ensure all installations meet current regulations for residential and commercial properties. Oversee construction estimating activities related to gas fitting projects, including material take-offs and labor costs to support project budgeting. Perform construction site inspections to monitor progress, verify quality standards, and identify potential safety hazards or code violations. Coordinate with clients, contractors, and local authorities to facilitate smooth project workflows while providing exceptional customer service throughout project lifecycles. Maintain mechanical knowledge of pipe threading, welding, hand tool operation, power tools usage, pipe assembly, and system maintenance or repair tasks. Ensure construction regulatory compliance by reviewing plans, managing field service activities, and overseeing heavy lifting or remodeling operations as needed. Supervise the installation and maintenance of domestic water systems, ensuring proper functioning of plumbing systems within residential or commercial buildings.
