Job Title:
Pipefitter Pipefitter General Summary of Duties:
Plan, lay-out, install, test and repair all types of piping systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by supervision. Position will report to manager as assigned by Superintendent. Essential Abilities, Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned as required): With regard to that portion of the work assigned, develop complete understanding of contract plans and specifications and plan, lay-out, install and/or repair all types of piping systems in accordance with those plans and specifications. Read and understand plans and specifications, including orthographic and isometric drawings. Visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions. Follow established jobsite safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards. Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain, and take any corrective action needed. Use appropriate hand and power tools to fit and install all types of pipe and/or similar tubular products; cut or drill holes in walls to permit passage of pipes; select specified type and size of pipe; mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings to hold pipe; install valves, couplings and other fittings; disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe; and lift, position and secure materials and work pieces during installation. Utilizes all pipe fitting techniques and methods for different types of piping systems and pipe couplings including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, victaulic, grooved, glued and fused joints Understand and implement lockout/tagout procedures in a safe manner. Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards.JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Experience - Minimum 5 years' experience as pipefitter. Communication Skills - Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to understand information, ideas, direction and then be able to perform the task or project discussed. Also, to be able to ask questions to insure you understand the information given. Must have a working knowledge of pipefitting techniques and methods. Must be able to work with carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, and poly/HDPE, minimal work with other alloys required. Must be proficient in the use of bevelers, threaders and other end prep machines. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately.PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

(if applicable) This position is a Non-Exempt position and is subject to overtime pay. This position reports directly to the Foreman as assigned by C&E Superintendent for daily tasks.TOOLS NEEDED
Workers shall provide his/her own tools no later than the third week of employment. Tool list attached.TRANSPORTATION
It is generally expected that each worker will have his/her own car. All employees are responsible for their own transportation to work in C&E jobsites and park only in designated parking areas. HOURS Full time hours and over time as needed as well as weekends and nights. Although C&E prefers not to work during holidays, sometimes it will be necessary and mandated that we work during company elected holidays to accommodate to customer's needs.Job Type:
